We have a Special Connection

For those of you who are related to me, you probably already know what this is about. For those of you who don`t, well, too bad. Actually, it`s not that bad, because I`m going to tell you right now. This post is about my beloved cat, Zoe. And today, I`m going to tell you all about her crazy antics, and why she is the best cat in the world.
Zoe loves to sit on things. Especially when they are right in the center of everything anyone is doing. Basically, she just likes to be the center of attention. It`s pretty great. So, whenever you`re doing your homework, or trying to play a board game, or trying to put the barbies back in the box they were in, she`ll sit on whatever you`re trying to do at that moment. She`s great like that.

You can`t really tell in this picture, but Zoe likes to sit in this bush.

Zoe is very photogenic. She will always get in the perfect position and make the perfect face for that picture. Which is why I have so many pictures of her. Most of the time she`ll sit still and stare at you, but sometimes, she`ll run away and not want her picture taken. Most of the time, I understand.

Zoe knows that she is the best cat in the world, and thinks she should be treated that way. If you let her outside the back door when it`s raining, she will be at the front door in 5 minutes, waiting to be let in. And then when you let her in, she`ll meow at you until you escort her upstairs. She`ll also meow at you if Hannah and Janie`s bedroom  door is closed, and she wants to sleep in there. ( Mom doesn`t like her in Janie`s bed ) She has kept me up all night for this very reason.
The biggest reason that I think Zoe is the best, is that she thinks I am the best. I know it, and everyone else knows it, they just won`t confess it. Zoe has always liked me the best. We have a special connection you know.
Anyway, I know this has been a short post, but really, what else can you say about the best cat in the world? She`s just the best. That`s all there is to it.

Stay tuned for next weeks post!

I`m With the Council

Before I begin this post, I think I should tell you that I`m doing this because I can`t watch the JB movie with my pals. My mom said this was a good alternative.
Well, today I decided that I have been on a lot of field trips lately ( 3 in the last 2 weeks ). I have to admit that one of them was just because I`m cooler than everyone and I`m on the Student Council ( notice how I capitalized Student Council. It`s kind of big deal.) I`m just kidding. That is exactly what I learned not to do on the Student Council field trip.
My first fieldtrip was okay. Well, it was good, but kind of a disappointment. We were going to the Hogle Zoo. You know, I`ve always wondered why it was called that, but, you know. Anyway, before we went to the zoo, we had to go to this performence at Kingsberry Hall. We went to see the performence of "Blast". It was fun, and my friend Kambree believes that she found true love, ( apparently she thought one of the drummers was worthy of being one`s true love) but that cut our time short at the zoo. We only had about an hour to eat lunch AND look at all the wildlife. But, luckily, our chaperone let us just run loose because Bailey had her phone handy. But, this led to Bailey taking charge and rushing us through the whole zoo. Oh well.
My second fieldtrip was much better, and the inspiration to my post-title. This was my Student Council fieldtrip. It all started when I woke up at 5:30 in the morning and drove to the school at 6:30. Yup. We were on a bus for the sunrise. I guess it made sense, because we had to drive all the way to BYU, but still, 6:30? Really? Anyway this fieldtrip was like a Student Council convention. There were Student Council members everywere! It was great. The best part was the little compitition we had with all the other schools. We had to go around and trade our school stickers with other schools. I am proud to say that our school got 2nd place.
Woot woot. But the best part of that whole activity, was finding out Uintah`s mascot....unicorns. They were the Uintah Unicorns. Yeah.
Other than that, all we did all day was listen to speeches. It was awesome. We learned all about setting goals, using your popularity wisely, and not acting cool just because you`re on the council. The best speaker by far was John Bytheway. It was fantastic. He told us to say no to asphault, and to stay away from things that kill you. He also talked about when he gave his kidney to his brother.
The last fieldtrip was also a disappointment. The teachers refused to tell us where we were going until the day of the fieldtrip, because when they do, everyone is just throwing assignments in theie faces, because they don`t want missing assignments. ( if you have missing assignments, you can`t go on the fieldtrip) I don`t understand why they didn`t just get their work done in the first place. So anyway, we were all pumped for the fieldtrip and then we found out that we were going to some Veterans Day program. It was cool, but not what we expected. All we did was listen to people talk. And it wasn`t funny like the people at the Student Council fieldtrip. Plus, Mrs. Ohrenburger ( a 6th grade teacher at my school ) kept getting mad at us, because she did not like it even if we let out a peep.
Anyway, my point is, well, I actually don`t have a point. I just like fieldtrips. And by that I mean, I like fieldtrips more than most people do. But by that I also mean, I like fieldtrips more than I like most people. ( I was just kidding, Abbie is probably the only person who is going to get that reference. Oh well)

A post called Steve

Ah, the wonderful holiday known as Halloween. The holiday where all you have to do is dress up and walk around to get free candy. Is there anything better? Not to mention all the parties at school, getting to stay home from school, and all the scary stuff that happens like finding a distorted Ken underneath your bed. ( I`ll talk about that later.)
The party started on Friday, when the whole 6th grade walked to "Legacy Village", a rest home that might as well be a hotel. This place is mammoth. I talkin` HUGE. They have game rooms, salons, fitness rooms, dining rooms the size of restaurants, a serenity room, a movie theater that plays new movies very day, and more than 4000 rooms. Only about 20 of them came to the multipurpose room that day to watch us sing Halloween songs. We sang the "Addams Family" , "Flying Purple People Eater" ( that one did not get my vote), and " Little Shop of Horrors". We got really in to that one, with full out dances, hands in the air, and ending in dramatic poses. Everybody was really nice, even though they probably thought we were crazy hooligans, considering the fact that it was also crazy hair day.
After we sang to the folks in the multipurpose room, we went door to door and gave people candy. Some  people got really excited, some people were kind of excited, some people would never let us leave ( cough, the lady with the dog), and some people were just really confused. The party continued when we went back to school and ate candy till we all threw up.
I think now is the appropriate time to talk about Ken. It was Saterday morning, and we were cleaning Hannah and Janie`s room. Trust me, it is hard work. Anyway, Mom was cleaning out behind their bed when suddenly, she screamed. We all started to stare at her when she yelled " KEN!!!!" We all looked over, and to our horror, she pulled out surfer Ken, with his head all smashed, and his legs bent to the left. Fortunately, we were able to fix the head, but his legs, we fear, are permanantly like this, so I made him a wheel chair.

Carving pumpkins was certainly an adventure. My pumpkin was HUGE. Well, you know, a casual huge. You know, big... no, BIG. Some advertisments might say " These knives are hard on pumpkins!", but if I were to make an advertisment for my pumpkin, it would be " This pumpkin is hard on knives", because I broke 3 pumpkin carving knives in the process of carving it.

When most of us were finished, Mom went to pizza, and that isn`t even the best part. Someone left their pizza crust outside, and while Rachel, Mom, and I were finishing carving our pumpkins, the seaguls attacked. They were everywhere. Circling the sky like vultures. Finally, one of them dived. Then two, then three. They were fighting over the pizza. One of them grabbed one end, another grabbed the other. Finally, one of them just swallowed it. They all stayed for a while, but eventually, they left.

Monday was Halloween! We celebrated by inviting almost all of my mom`s side of the family over for dinner. I decided to go trick-or-treating with my friends Kambree, Kevin, Lincoln, and Chayse was already at Lincoln`s house, so he came too.  I decided I was going to be a garden gnome. We made really poofy pants, a green pirate shirt, and  a red, pointy cap.
